MindBubble is a wellbeing companion, not a clinic. We aim for WCAG 2.2 Level AA on the pages you can read without JavaScript, and we keep improving the app. This is a working statement, not a certificate.
If something on this site is hard to use, email hello@mindbubble.online and say which page and what happened. Charlie reads that inbox. We will try to fix it.
What we have in place
- A skip link on the app and this page, so keyboard users can jump the header.
- Visible focus rings on buttons, links and form fields.
- Pages marked
lang="en-GB", with a single main heading on each public HTML page. prefers-reduced-motion: decorative bubbles stay still, the breathe circle does not scale, and CSS animations are shortened.- Crisis numbers (Samaritans 116 123, text SHOUT to 85258, 999) stay in HTML, including when JavaScript is off.
- Search in the app covers quick escapes, sparks, Path sessions, and the main guide pages.
- Tracker logs can be downloaded as CSV or printed from Wellness Trackers. Self-harm recovery notes stay on the device and are not in that file.
- The bubble pad can take an optional passcode (Tools). If you forget it, the only way through is to erase the pad on this device — we cannot recover it.
- A standalone 30-second breath page and printable coping cards work with JavaScript off (print still needs a browser print dialog).
Known limits
- Some games (Worry Monster, Mindful Garden, Stellar Bloom, Mind Bubble Build) use canvas or WebGL. They are still pointer-first. Keyboard extras: Enter feeds the Worry Monster; Escape closes its tic-tac-toe overlay; Space/Enter spawn flowers in Stellar Bloom; Mind Bubble Build uses Shift to rotate. Full keyboard play of the 3D scenes is not there yet.
- The app still uses some inline click handlers. Screen readers get names and roles on the main nav and forms; not every decorative control is perfect.
- Dark theme on some cards uses a strong lavender. If contrast fails for you, stay on light theme (the default).
- Third-party players (YouTube on Watch & Listen, Stripe checkout) have their own accessibility.
How to use the site with less motion or no JavaScript
Turn on “reduce motion” in your operating system and the app will stop the floating bubbles and the breathe animation scale. With JavaScript off, these pages still work: home, Get Support UK, the men’s / women’s / teens guides, How this came to be, Privacy, and this statement.
Standards we are aiming for
WCAG 2.2 Level AA for text pages. We do not claim a full audit of every game. Colour is not the only way information is shown on the trackers (emoji plus labels). Text can be enlarged in the browser; we do not block pinch-zoom.
Crisis and safety
If you are in crisis: Samaritans 116 123 (free, 24/7), text SHOUT to 85258, or call 999 in an emergency. More on Get Support UK.
